This interesting and unique patio coffee table is a departure from how Christina and I have been making tables.  She usually does the top, and I make the legs.  Out of this reversal has come an amazing table which looks and feels like a magic flying carpet from the enchanting fairy tales of One Thousand and One Nights.

The top of the carpet, I mean table, is made from a heavy weight perforated metal sheet, strong enough for a few people to sit on.  I have welded steel seamlessly along the edge to give the table a beautiful finished look.  The legs are completely my invention, with several solid steel components fused together to create an elegant and sturdy support for the top.  Christina made the tile with near eastern colors and motifs to further enhance the fairy tale quality of the whole piece.
