   This unusual side table is called “Askew” in honor of it’s interesting and complex weaving of metal trim framing the beautiful tile top.  I created the detailed table base which plays with the idea of what a table is.  The detail photo below gives just a hint of the amount of thought and work that went into this piece.  It is hard to do justice to this sculptured table in a photograph, but at least you can get an idea, and also it is possible to appreciate the lovely patina which has been sealed in with a semi-gloss finish.  The rich orange-red of the oxidized steel complements the vibrant blues and greens of the ceramic tile that Christina handmade and fired. The tile is a painting in it’s self.
