     This beautiful little side table has a unique and painterly steel base.  I used intense heat to create the pattern on the skirt, matching the pitted texture of the legs.  The contrast between the light pattern and the dark background has an organic movement to it that is contained by the squareness of the actual forms. The feet of the table are handmade and are connected to the skirt by solid, hexagonal steel rods as legs.

    Christina used actual leaves from the vine, Queen Anne’s Wreath, impressed into the wet clay to create the design on these tiles.  She also printed with some miscellaneous machine and fabric parts.  The metal base of this piece is similar to “Snake Skin Boots”.  The tile of that table is darker, and is cut in a more random way.  You could own both tables and they would be distinct,  unique and yet harmonious with one another, thereby avoiding the predictability that identical end tables usually have.
